Boise Beats Timberline

by Transition Hoops Report

boise timberlineBoise controlled Thursday’s game with a tenacious defensive effort beating their crosstown rival.  They play extremely hard and make a ton of game winning plays.

Boise’s Paul Pennington (5’10 PG 2018) set the tone attacking on every play on both ends.  He is feisty and tough as nails defensively and has a knack of coming up with loose balls.  Offensively Pennington was aggressive getting into the paint and drawing contact to get to the free throw line or finishing his floater.  He also hit multiple 3s off both the catch and dribble.

Lucas Centeno (6’3 SG 2018) was also very impressive on both ends for Boise.  He plays hard and his length and athleticism make him a very versatile defender.  Centeno blocked several shots and had multiple steals.  Even though he had an off night by his standards from the perimeter, he still battled his way to several offensive rebound put backs and driving finishes at the rim.  Both Pennington and Centeno are big time winners.

Timberline had a couple of young guards that showed some flashes.  Jaron Rillie (5’9 PG 2019) made a couple great plays with the ball in his hands knocking down some 3’s off ball screens and getting into the lane for a nice mid range jumper.  Andy Ford (5’9 PG 2019) also had a couple great skill plays.  He can really shoot and has a nice feel for the game.  Watch for those guys to be big impact guys as their bodies mature.
