Semi-Final Games from the SIC District Tournament
by Transition Hoops Report
In round two of the Southern Idaho Conference (SIC) semi-finals, Rocky Mountain took on Centennial in game 1 followed by Boise vs. Borah. If you missed our wrap up of top players from the first round, click here.
Centennial vs. Rocky Mountain
Rocky Mountain got out early and then maintained a double digit lead through most of the game. Inside, Kolby Lee showed two things: when his jump hook is falling he is almost impossible to stop at this level and when double teams come at him he is excellent finding the open man on the back side. We also saw Kobe Terashima pick a part the defense in both half court sets and in transition.
Rocky also got some nice hustle contributions from Tyler O'Donnell and Hunter Ranstrom.
Centennial did get some early work from Delveion Jackson, who is tough to stop when he gets a head of steam going to the basket.
Boise vs. Borah
Game two was mostly defense, as Boise came away with a 36-33 win on a buzzer beating 3-pointer from Paul Pennington. While there wasn’t much offense to speak about, it was fun watching the Pennington vs. Ellis Magnuson guard match up in the second half and watching big men Derek Evers (Borah) and Andrew Theobald (Boise) go at each other.
