East Idaho and Montana Standouts From The Weekend

by Transition Hoops Report

Transition Hoops Report spent the weekend traveling through east Idaho, southern and eastern Montana.  Here are the prospects that stood out (by class in alphabetical order):

Class of 2017

Tanner Haverfield (6’3 SG Beaverhead County HS, MT) – strong and tough and makes game winning plays.  Haverfield has a great feel for the game and has a complete game – good feel, shoots the 3, mid range, finishes at the rim, defends, rebounds, etc.  He is an NAIA prospect.

Brendan Howard (6’6 PF Great Falls HS, MT) – the Eastern Washington signee proved again why he is the best rebounder in the Northwest.  He is relentless on the glass constantly rebounding over and through multiple defenders.

Class of 2018

Kelson Eiselein (6’5 PF Roundup HS, MT) – long and bouncy.  Eiselein has a great jumpshot with range beyond the 3 point line and he can shoot off the dribble or catch.  He has a big rebounding range and is a great shot blocker.  He has the ability to play at a very high level.

Dawson Fowler (6’0 SG Belgrade HS, MT) – great length and athletic guard.  Fowler is a scoring guard that has deep range, can shoot off the dribble or catch and is a strong defender.  He is a nice prospect that has a great feel for the game and scores when the game comes to him.

Trey Johnson (6’5 SF Hillcrest HS, ID) – long and athletic wing that can finish above the rim and is really good in transition.  Johnson is at his best attacking the basket off the dribble and slashing to the rim without the ball.  His athleticism makes him a prospect to keep track of.

Derrek Marlowe (6’2 SG Hillcrest HS, ID) – good sized guard.  Marlowe is a good shooter that shoots it with a lot of confidence and can shoot it off the catch or dribble.

Class of 2019

Michael Haverfield (6’3 SG Beaverhead County HS, MT) – tough young player with good size and length for a wing.  Haverfield is a tough kid that is a winner.  He is a good shooter that takes good shots, battles for loose balls, and is a strong defender.

Blake Thelen (6’3 SG Great Falls HS, MT) – strong and athletic wing that is a versatile defender and can score in a lot of ways.  Thelen is a really intriguing prospect to keep an eye on.  He can hit the 3, attack the basket, has a big rebounding range, and has great timing to block shots.
