by Transition Hoops Report
We caught Day 2 of the 22nd annual Les Schwab Invitational. While the overall talen was down compared to previous years, their were still several prospects that are worth noting.
Class of 2018
Dane Agost (6’7 C Clackamas HS, OR) – athletic and skilled lefty. Agost is really good around the rim and has a great second jump to finish. He is a good shot blocker and a strong presence inside on both sides. NAIA/ D2 prospect.
Khalil Chatman (6’8 P Jefferson HS, OR) – Athletic with a great basketball body. Could play at a very high level if he commits to continuing to develop his skills and will avoid getting caught up in his emotions.
Jake Estep (6’5 SF Beaverton HS, OR) – The Western Oregon commit was tough and showed versatility. He hit some outside shots and was willing to mix it up inside.
Jake Fedrizzi (5’11 PG Lakeridge HS, OR) – plays hard. Fedrizzi is a good shooter from 3 with a lot of confidence. He would be a nice addition for a NWAC school.
Kyle Greeley (6’5 SF West Salem HS, OR) – Greeley is kind of a “do what’s needed” player. Finishes strong, shoots it a bit and is a great floor leader.
Kamaka Hepa (6’9 SF Jefferson HS, OR) – Does everything. All around stud. If you don’t know about him, visit youtube.com
Bo Quinlan (6’3 PG Southridge HS, OR) – strong body and good body control. Quinlan appears to be a great leader and is a combo guard that can handle pressure with the ball and make plays off the catch. He is a D2/ NAIA player.
Kelton Samore (6’8 PF Grant HS, OR) – Samore continues to show improvement each year. He is a nice stretch four with good touch and length. Willing to rebound. He would be a good fit at low major D1 or a D2.
JR Schilling (6’5 SG Lake Oswego HS, OR) – Schilling is a long shooting guard that can hit the outside shot and score getting to the basket. He will also go to the glass. He is a solid NAIA to D2 type of player.
Jalen Thompson (6’3 SG West Linn HS, OR) – Good looking shot and consistent shooter from deep. Plays with confidence and understands the flow of the game. Would be a contributor on an NAIA or D2 team.
Joe Wall (6’6 PF Jesuit HS, OR) – very skilled. Wall has good size and can really stretch out the defense with deep range. He is a perfect D3 stretch 4.
Class of 2019
Josh Angle (6’2 PG Lake Oswego HS, OR) – very skilled and shifty. Angle can really score it from all 3 levels and is very confident. He has a really high IQ and is one to keep an eye on.
Jalen Brown (6’3 SG Jefferson HS, OR) – athletic and quick with a good motor. Brown is really versatile on both ends. As his skill set continues to improve the level he could play at will rise.
Aaron Deloney (6’0 PG Grant HS, OR) – very quick and bouncy – quick off his feet. Deloney is a combo guard that can handle the ball and can score it from beyond the 3 or use his quickness to get to his mid range jumpshot. He is one to keep an eye on at a high level.
Brock Henry (6’2 SG Southridge HS, OR) – Ultra confident shooter with the capability of getting hot from deep. Surprisingly athletic with length. Could definitely thrive at a small college but if his body fills out he could go higher.
Tyke Thompson (6’7 PF West Salem HS, OR) – long and plays hard. Thompson is aggressive to loose balls and is a good shot blocker. He is skilled enough to step out and hit the perimeter jumpshot or make a play going to the basket. He is a small college prospect.
Marcus Tsohonis (6’5 SG Jefferson HS, OR) – very long, athletic and shifty. Tsohonis can score from the perimeter, mid range, or get to the rim and is a crafty finisher. He has mid major talent when he plays with urgency but to be successful at the next level will need to play with more energy and enthusiasm.
Class of 2020
Micah Garrett (6’3 SG West Linn HS, OR) – long, strong, and athletic. Garrett is a confident scorer that can really get it going from the perimeter, knock down the mid range jumper, and finish at the rim. He is a D1 prospect worth keeping a close eye on.
Jesse White (6’1 SG Barlow HS, OR) – high basketball IQ. White can really shoot the 3 and understands how to move without the ball to get open looks. Very skilled.
Class of 2021
Tony Fair (6’4 PG Lakeridge HS, OR) – Long point guard that still has plenty of room to grow in to his body. Showed some flashes of playmaking but will need to continue to mature and learn the game.
Wayne McKinney III (5’10 PG Lake Oswego HS, OR) – very quick especially lateral quickness. McKinney is an elite on ball defender that can pressure full court. He also has good court vision and tight handle. Needs to improve his perimeter shooting. Definitely a player to keep an eye on.
