Highlights from the Montana Showcases

by Transition Hoops Report

The Montana Showcases highlighted prospects from Montana, Wyoming, Washington and Idaho. See who stood out.

Class of 2016

Levi Clagett (6'4 SG Florence HS, MT) - Clagett got better as the day went on in Missoula. He showed he could handle the ball in transition when needed and knocked down some shots from 3 and mid range. He also did a good job getting to the boards from the guard position.

Connor Dowdy (6'7 C Helena Capital HS, MT) - Dowdy did a great job of being active in the paint on both ends of the court.  He is a good rim protector and runs the floor hard.

RayQuan Evans (6'2 PG Skyview Billings HS, MT) - Evans is a dynamic point guard that is special when he attacks the basket.  He is quick with a nice handle and can finish above the rim.  We saw him at the MSU Billings team camp where he led his team to the champship.

Jacob Hadley (6'6 SF Billings Central HS, MT) - Hadley was really impressive in both his ability to slash and finish as well as knock down the perimeter jumpshot.  He is a great looking prospect for the next level.

Wyatt Harwood (6'6 PF Cut Bank HS, MT) - Harwood battled inside with strong physical play and can step out to 15 feet and score. He has good hands and knows how to lock in his position on the low block and score with his back to the basket.  Harwood is very tough and rebounds out of his range.

Ladan Ricketts (6'4 SG Livingston HS, MT) - Ricketts showed great range and was really bouncy.  He is a long guard that can really score.

Nick Tranel (6'4 SF Billings Skyview HS, MT) - Tranel is a strong bodied shooter that knows how to move without the ball to get open looks.  He is an excellent shooter.

Class of 2017

Brendan Howard (6'5 PF Great Falls HS, MT) - Howard once again showed that he is a D1 prospect. He is relentless on the boards, is an elite finisher in the paint, and has become a very consistent 3 point shooter.  Howard is a matchup nightmare for defenses.

Daniel Silverstein (5'10 PG Great Falls HS, MT) - Silverstein did a little bit of everything. He knocked down some shots, created his own shot off the dribble and was active on defense. When he makes simple plays he is a great lead guard.

Class of 2018

Kaden Davis (5'10 PG Lakeland HS, ID) - Davis is a athletic point guard with a good burst of speed.  He is a strong finisher in transition and also can knock down the perimeter jumper.

Kelson Eiselein (6'4 PF MT) - Eiselein is a really good looking prospect.  He can go inside and finish around the basket and rebound out of his range or step outside and knock down the perimeter jumper.

TJ Reynolds  (6'4 PF Shelby HS, MT) - Reynolds showed that he can score inside and out. He can hit the 3, mid range jumper, or finish in the paint.  Reynolds is very active and fundamentally sound.

Jakim Ricketts (6'0 SG Livingston HS, MT) - Ricketts is a really tough kid.  He can play both the point or shooting guard and is skilled enough to be affective at both positions.

Emmit Taylor (6'3 SG Lapwai, ID) - Taylor is a good sized shooting guard that has a scorer's mentality.  He is very confident and knows how to move without the ball to open shots.

Class of 2019

Noah Ambuehi (6'3 SF Great Falls Central, HS) - Ambuehi is a tough matchup cause he is an inside/ outside threat.  He can make tough plays in the paint or step outside and knock down the perimeter jumpshot.  Ambuehi has a lot of potential and is a player to track.
