Big man match up in Meridian (ID)

Meridian hosted Rocky Mountain, a basketball game that featured two big men with contrasting styles of play. Rocky got the win, though Meridian battled back in the second half to keep it close.
Rocky Mountain's Kolby Lee (6'8 C 2017) did a very good job using his size and strength advantage to get position in the post in the first half. He made the most of his touches and drew fouls against Meridian's big, Axel Mpoyo.
Mpoyo (6'7 PF 2015) did respond well in the second half. He continued to run the floor hard and remained aggressive on offense. He drew a lot of contact and got to the free throw line. Though raw, he would occasionally make an instinctual play that validated his high upside. When he learns how to use his length and natural athleticism to his advantage, he could become a very good player at the next level.
On the perimeter, Rocky's Treighton Shepherd (5'10 PG 2015) showed good lateral quickness with the ball in his hands and knocked down big free throws at the end to seal the win.
