Buhl (Idaho) Pulls Away From Wendell

by Transition Hoops Report

From Wendell, Idaho - Buhl HS at Wendell HS

After a back and forth first half, Buhl ran away from Wendell in the third quarter and coasted to a big win down the stretch.  The defending 3A state champions have suffered some injuries this season but still have the ability to score quickly.  Buhl proved they could repeat if they get hot.

Buhl’s Hayden Eckert (5’8 PG 2016) scored it from everywhere.  In the third quarter he had 16 points hitting 3’s, pulling up for his mid range jumper or getting all the way to the rim.  Eckert is really strong and quick and Wendell struggled to stay in front of him.

Michael Lively (6’5 PF 2016) controlled the paint for Buhl.  He is a big and physical presence in the paint that rebounds out of his range.  Lively is also improving with his back to the basket.  He showed some nice low post moves and strong finishes around the rim.
